The historical marker can be found at the corner of 7th Ave. and Pass-A-Grille Way on Long Key, just west of St. Petersburg. The house was built in 1886 by Zephaniah Phillips, the first homesteader. The house in October 2004 was occupied by a couple who were kind enough to invite us inside to look around. Some parts of the house inside include the original woodwork. The photograph was taken in October, 2004, by Anne Field.
