Israel Day Towle was born 14 Apr 1787 in Loudon, New Hampshire, to Jacob Towle and Mary Moulton. He married Eliza Pierce, daughter of Jarvis Peirce and Rhoda Darby, 20 April 1816 in Greenburgh, Westchester County, New York. Israel died 03 Apr 1875 in Harrisburg, Illinois. Eliza died 20 July 1876, also in Harrisburg, Saline County, Illinois. They are buried in the old section of the Harrisburg Cemetery.
