Home of North & Anna Habberton Storms, Evansville, Indiana

North Storms and his wife Anna Habberton lived in this home in downtown Evansville, Indiana. North Storms, 1842-1893, was the son of Lucy Towls Peirce and John Storms of Carmi, Illinois, and the grandson of Jarvis Peirce Sr. and his wife Rhoda Darby. The Peirce family was originally from Massachusetts but moved to Illinois about 1818.

North Storms was a businessman in Carmi, originally operating a drug store but later dealt in grain and agricultural implements. He built this home at 304 S.E. First Street in Evansville. Evansville was not far from Carmi, across the Wabash River in Indiana. The house is now part of the First Street Historic District but the area is somewhat rundown and the house appeared to be vacant in 2011. North Storms died in 1893. North Storms, his brother, Hail Storms, and their three sisters, Rosetta, Laura and Cuma owned quite a bit of land in Carmi, some of it inherited and some which they purchased. North's wife Anna died in March 1930.
