George Brent was born in 1829, probably in Washington D.C. where his family lived. His father was Col. William Brent, son of Robert Brent and Ann Carroll. His mother was Elizabeth Neale of Charles County, Maryland. He never married and died in 1899. He is buried, with his parents and other family members, in St. John the Evangelist Cemetery, also called the Carroll Cemetery, in Forest Glen, Maryland.
