Mrs. Annie V. McKendree
Mrs. Annie Viola McKendree, 80, died Thursday in the Sarasota Memorial Hospital. She was born in Desoto County and lived most of her life in Manatee and Sarasota counties. At the time of her death Mrs. McKendree resided at 5527 N. Lockwood Ridge Rd. She was a member of the Church of Christ.

She is survived by her husband, George McKendree, Sr.; five daughters, Mrs. Ruby Foy of Sarasota, Mrs. Ila Corbett of New York City, Mrs. Anita Evanco of Cape Cod, Mass., Mrs. Allene Beete of Clarkston, Wash., Mrs. Christine Lowery of Sarasota; seven sons, William C. Whitted, Walter Whitted, Belden Whitted of Sarasota, Clyde Whitted of Avon Park, Fla; Floyd Whitted of Sarasota, Murray Whitted of Sarasota, and George McKendree of Tampa; 29 grandchildren and 34 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted Sunday at 3 p.m. from the Toale Brothers downtown chapel, 40 N. Orange Ave. Edward Grantham, minister, will officiate. Interment will be in Rosemary Cemetery.

Annie Viola Walker married Allen Whitted 23 Dec 1900 after his first wife, Allie Mae Graham died in 1897. After Allen died in 1919, she married George McKendree in 1920.
